Paws on my Heart Mittens:

Size: Toddler
Materials: 2 skeins of Dalegarn Baby Ull, size 2 needles DP

Cast on 30 stitches in Main Color - work 14 rows of K1 P1 ribbing
Knit 5, M1 around = 36 stitches
Knit 2 rows Plain
Start Pattern, Use chart below for back of hand, alternating color on palm of hand (k1 color1, k1 color 2)
Do 3 rows in pattern, start thumb

Next Row (row 6) increase for thumb, on palm side.. K1,M1,K1,M1, place marker -- continue around in pattern
Row 7- work in pattern
Row 8K1 M1 K2 M1 K1 move marker continue around in pattern
Row 9 work in pattern
Row 10 K1 M1 K4 M1 K1 move marker, continue around in pattern

Continue in this manner, adding 2 stitches in thumb every other row until there are 12 stitches between marker, end with a non increasing row
K1, put 10 on holder, cast on 4 over the hole, K1, continue around mitten (40 sts)
work through pattern. Drop CC (at this point check size, you could do a few plain rows for more length)

Decrease:* K2 together, knit 16 K2*, repeat
Plain Row
*K2 tog, k14, K2 tog* repeat
plain row
*k2 tog, k12,K2 tog* repeat
Plain row
Kitchener top together

Pick up 10 stitches from holder, pick up 1 on side of thumb hole, 4where cast on was, 1 on other side (16 stitches)

work in the round in MC for 14 rows
K2 together around
Break yarn thread thru stitches, pull and sew up.
Work in Ends...

Make another, switching the thumb to be at the far side of the palm.
